Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean (R-21) and Senator Jennifer Beck (R-12) again called on Governor Corzine to publicly detail the steps he has taken to deal with a budget deficit of at least $600 million. Despite the fact that the deficit is growing every day as revenue collections sputter, the Governor continues to sign new spending bills into law without saying what will be cut to pay for them. A $600 million planned budget surplus for the current year has already been impacted by a $1.2 billion revenue drop that has yet to be addressed.

12th District Legislators, Colts Neck Officials Accept “Little Soldiers” Gifts from Trump Organization

12th District Assembly members Declan O’Scanlon and Caroline Casagrande, along with Monmouth County Freeholder Director Lillian Burry and Colts Neck Township Committee members James Stuart and Benjamin Forrester, today met with members of the Trump Organization at Trump National Golf Course - Colts Neck to accept gifts for the Little Soldiers program, a program operated under the direction of American Recreational Military Services which provides holiday gifts to the children of United States military personnel who are serving overseas and cannot be home with their families for the holiday season. The 12th District legislators offered each of the 16 municipalities in their district the opportunity to participate this year.

Beck Selected for Prestigious Aspen-Rodel Fellowship

The New Jersey State Senator Jennifer Beck (R-Monmouth, Mercer) has been selected by the Aspen Institute’s Rodel Fellowships in Public Leadership as one of 24 elected public officials in its 2008 class of Fellows. Each of the members of the class was selected on their reputation for intellect, thoughtfulness, and a bipartisan approach to governing. The class is evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats and represents Fellows from 22 states, serving at both local and state levels of government.
